REAL TALK w/ MARLON BRANDO

“Marilyn was a sensitive, misunderstood person, much more perceptive than was generally assumed. She had been beaten down, but had a strong emotional intelligence — a keen intuition for the feelings of others, the most refined type of intelligence. We had an affair and saw each other intermittently until she died in 1962. It’s been speculated that she had a secret rendezvous with [Robert F. Kennedy] that week and was distraught because he wanted to end an affair between them. But she didn’t seem depressed to me, and I don’t think that if she was sleeping with him at the time she would have invited me over for dinner. I’m sure she didn’t commit suicide. I have always believed that she was murdered.”  - Marlon on Marilyn

REAL TALK w/ MARLON BRANDO

We make up any excuse to preserve myths about people we love, but the reverse is also true; if we dislike an individual we adamantly resist changing our opinion, even when somebody offers proof of his decency, because it’s vital to have myths about both the gods and the devils in our lives.

Topanga: Cory, look. You’re my best friend and you always have been, and more. I know how young and stupid this is but I always thought we’d be together for the rest of our lives.
Cory: Stop time.
Topanga: What?
Cory: I want to call stop time now. I want to stop time, right now, because I know you’re about to get to the bad part but if I call stop time right now, then we’re going to be together for the rest of our lives.

If you're a bird, I'm a bird.
I love you. I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope and every dream I’ve ever had and no matter what happens to us in the future, everyday we are together is the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours.

Marry me: Shia Labeouf

How I disregarded Shia's bday post on my blog escapes me!
I could speak about this man for D-A-Y-S.
My obsession for this kid was est. in 1999 and is still going strong.
I have adored him through jew fros, Hawaiian shirts, DUIs, his short lived rap career and hobo for a day moments.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY SHIA,
YOU ARE F*CKIN' AMAZING.
Talent * Looks* Humor* Intelligence * Wit* Swag
that's why I can't get enough of you

XOXO,

Audio therapy: No Doubt "Sunday Morning"

"I know who I am, but who are you?

You're not looking like you used to
You're on the other side of the mirror
So nothing's looking quite as clear
Thank you for turning on the lights"

All hail Gwen Stefani, my ultimate idol.
All hail No Doubt, one of my favorite bands.
Any song off of Tragic Kingdom is classic, and this happens to be one of the greats.
I've probably used Tragic Kingdom with every heartbreak scenario and with each listen I'm astounded by the melodies and lyrics.
They literally turned a torturous breakup into sunny ska-pop... Now that's genius!
As with any of the audio therapy song features I truly identify with each lyric.
Loving someone while they become a changeling is BOGUS.
I could go on for days...but Gwen looks and sounds much better doing this than me.

The truth about the forgiving

“Men forget but never forgive. Women forgive but never forget.”

A major theme as of now in my life is that of forgiveness. I've seen the women in my life come out whole through hell. The only reason being that they were strong enough to forgive and keep truckin'. Upon viewing this as a child, I viewed forgiveness as some kind of weakness. Why on earth would you forgive someone for something that damn near killed your spirit? But of course as I grew older and found myself head over heels for someone, I soon learned the importance of the F word.
“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”-Gandhi
Well now here I am, out from under. Through my last few trials love has continually struck me and awakened me. Forgiving is NOT a sign of weakness it is a trait of an emotionally strong individual. When you can see past the flaws and pains that your love has inflicted upon you, you have power. Now with this, let me say that being hurt by someone who emotionally or physically abuses you does not call for a nonchalant reaction to forgive. Abuse is always unacceptable. But there are times when people get hurt in complex yet common ways in a relationship. I have forgiven the person I love I don't know how many times. Have I been forgiven for my mistakes? NO I'm sorry, I thought I was a human? Hearing and seeing my partner drown in the depths of resentment for something that is completely fixable and a non-dealbreaker has been torture.
LOVE requires forgiveness. In fact if forgiveness wasn't a true component of love it wouldn't exist. How would a relationship gain strength from not experiencing lows and hiking uphill to the top?
It wouldn't!
Alas, everyone is not the same and everyone must grow at their own pace.
However, if you struggle with pride/ego/self righteousness please know that you are drinking the poison and killing yourself, not the person who hurt you. Only for so long can you play the victim, only to find that you yourself have turned into the criminal because of your anger and inability to see beyond the negative.
Everyone gets hurt, everyone makes snap/irrational decisions at times and people do make mistakes. But the beauty in life is to find resilience in your love/relationships. To be loved unconditionally and accepted as a beautiful and loyal human is what I want. I have my eyes on the prize and I know I will get it next time around, whether it be from an old or new love. Never been one to throw in the towel, I'd rather continue hiking uphill to the top.

“The stupid neither forgive nor forget; the naive forgive and forget; the wise forgive but do not forget.”

“Forgiveness is the oil of relationships”-Josh McDowell

“The secret of forgiving everything is to understand nothing”

“He who is devoid of the power to forgive, is devoid of the power to love.” -Martin Luther King
