Audiotherapy: Paramore "MONSTER"

Gosh, with everything going on in my life, this song has proven to be a savior this week.
You gotta love Paramore.
They always know how to say things poetically, powerfully but yet subtle.
I tell myself things will get better, because things could be worse. But I must be true to myself and honor
this rut that I'm in. Whether that means my vision things is warped or not is besides the matter.
I'm learning alot...how to stop, relax and do things that MAKE ME HAPPY, not keep me busy.
It's time to get back to that and become MY OWN BEST FRIEND again.
This is all very hard to do, especially when doing for others makes you feel so good.
But doing for others and then being betrayed has also eaten me alive.
This is all character building and what matters is how you come out of it. That's the truth. You can continue to ignore your issues until they grow into something supernatural and threaten to engulf you.
That's what this song represents to me. Things are hard, people are treacherous, but your everlasting will to make it will help you survive anything.

You were my conscience, so solid now you’re like water.

And we started drowning, not like we’d sink any farther.
But I let my heart go, its somewhere down at the bottom.
But I’ll get a new one and come back for the hope that you´ve stolen (Paramore, "Monster")

xoxo,
Tia

Why we love Incubus...

brantleygutierrez:

Incubus

“If I turn into another, dig me up from under what..is covering..the better part of me. Sing this song, remind me that we’ll always have each other..when everything else is gone”.
Honestly what's not to love about Incubus? Anytime an artist can lodge memory into all of your senses by only using one sense as the tool, please believe it's magic. That's what Incubus is to me, magic.

I thought I'd post a more hopeful song. This is the most hopeful I can get at the moment after recent events. This song represents the thin line of love and hate. How someone can be both your strength and your weakness at the same time. You can hate them for it but at the same time you remember why you two love so hard, thus leaving you hopeful for a more positive outcome. The very person who breaks your heart can also be your savior, but it's only through these hard times that you learn what is really true.
It's just my interpretation from the view that I have.
Enjoy.

and how much do we adore Brandon Boyd? We don't have enough time!

Why we love Drake...

Can't nobody tell me nothing about Aubrey Drake Graham. I've been in love with this kid since his eyebrows and his afro connected. Ok, all jokes aside, its been astonishing to watch him flourish as a well rounded artist. His talent is so multi-faceted and his lyrics are so brutally honest/open you almost feel guilty for listening. The songs I replay on my Ipod at the moment happen to be "Marvin's room" and "Trust Issues" ft. The Weekend. He went to town on those two. I really appreciate his ability to tap into his generation and convey common issues and feelings in a 4 minute song. Go on wit yo' bad self Drizzy!

Why we love Adele...

sequin-stuffed:

Yes Boo!!!
Adele's voice, her lyrics, her entire album can provide therapy for any heartbreak.
She's so real and exactly the kind of artist our generation needs right now...and she keeps it real. lol.
Anyway, this song, "Turning Tables" is my audio therapy choice for the day.ENJOY!

Audio therapy: No Doubt "Sunday Morning"

"I know who I am, but who are you?

You're not looking like you used to
You're on the other side of the mirror
So nothing's looking quite as clear
Thank you for turning on the lights"

All hail Gwen Stefani, my ultimate idol.
All hail No Doubt, one of my favorite bands.
Any song off of Tragic Kingdom is classic, and this happens to be one of the greats.
I've probably used Tragic Kingdom with every heartbreak scenario and with each listen I'm astounded by the melodies and lyrics.
They literally turned a torturous breakup into sunny ska-pop... Now that's genius!
As with any of the audio therapy song features I truly identify with each lyric.
Loving someone while they become a changeling is BOGUS.
I could go on for days...but Gwen looks and sounds much better doing this than me.
xoxo,
Tia
