Girl who met world : The update of updates

Hey to all you Guys and Dolls!
Coming on this blog is like walking through a graveyard.
Abandoned much?
Yep.
So, many things have taken place since my very last post.
I've been away living life, allowing it to unfold.
Essentially living to create.
Creating off of living.
In the past 2 years I fell down the rabbit hole if you will.
All the way down into my own pseudo Wonderland.
The fall was rough but I survived.
Am I confusing you all? allow me to summarize.
Within these last 2 years I have:
become a breadwinner
owned my first home
become a mother
become a wife
moved ...pretty dang far

Wham BAM! See, so much change and evolution.
Basically in two collossal years...I have met my world.
It's never been easy or turned out as planned but I've been blessed to say the least.
Enamored isn't even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to describing the love I have for my daughter or husband. I can't speak for anyone else's maternity experiences but having Ava (yes she's named after Ava Gardner) revealed the purpose of so many past events. Things are hugely clear and I must say my whole 'Wonderland' experience has been really quite cathartic.
Now this all being said, I in NO WAY have it all figured out.
I'm still a 20 something mess, but I'm no longer wondering.
I've met my world and have yet to complete discovering it, everyday there is something new. I experience things and am effected in a prism like manner due to these new roles /I've acquired. It's all quite fun but enough to make you go crazy.
ADJUSTMENT is an understatement.
I hope to keep with my blog way better than I did before.
Seeing as how I am running behind my 4 month old please forgive me if there is some lagging.
Here's to happy living and blogging.

Forever Young

The more and more life reveals itself and I feel myself drifting further away from what was my usual, the more I want to pack my stuff and leave. Exploring the world sounds more appetizing with each day. For so long I've sacrificed my potential for my family...as much as I love them, they've been my anchor. I hope I get to explore the world and my personal freedom soon.

My dearest Dorothy,
Just as Diahann Carroll once said, you should have been the most successful movie star in the whole world, but you were a black woman at the wrong time. You even said that if you were white, you could capture the world. It’s so disheartening to me that you weren’t fully appreciated during your lifetime simply because of the color of your skin, but I pray that your effervescent soul is resting at peace knowing that your legacy continues to live on through the ground breaking path that you paved. Batman #13 cover
The Joker has been plotting and scheming for one whole year in the comic world and we all get to find out what he ha in store for Gotham in October in issue #13.
To say that I am over the moon doesn't explain my excitement!
The definitive villain is back with a new face ( he cut the skin off of his face and nailed it to a cell wall in Arkham Asylum before escaping) and new evil motive.
Word on the block is that this will be a Joker story to rival its predecessors.
October please hurry!!

Unsettled

Has anyone ever felt that something terrible that happened in the past will never be undone? Maybe not so much that it won't be undone, because it can't. No more along the lines that what happened has input an ingredient that has forever changed things.
It makes it hard to re-start. It makes it hard to believe in. It makes it hard for your calm and forgiving mind to stay constant and continue. I've been feeling this lately and I'm not sure why. I have no idea, I just know I need to get a grip.

Public Announcement: Apocalyptic love tour

I have to stop these posts and just announce that I, Tia, will be seeing my favorite guitarist of all time live in the flesh on October 2nd!!! I almost fainted during each stage of the ticket purchase. You may think me crazy for this but I'm almost certain I'm one of Slash's illegitimate kids. Come on, the full lips, big and ravenous locks...Ok not really, I just love this man!!!!
Rock stars aren't made like this anymore and he is a living legend. If there ever was a band who exemplified the definition of Rock n' Roll it would be Guns N' Roses (original lineup "Appetite for Destruction").
I'm completely counting down the days till can hear my favorite sing of all time, "Sweet Child o' Mine" played by the mythical Slash. I'm already dying over this!
:)

Xoxo,
Tia

Watch the throne

I think this joint venture was bound to happen, don't you? ;)

A Marvel Partnership

Two uncanny, limitless companies are now one: Marvel and Disney. It has been this way for awhile and for many Marvel/Disney fanatics this is not anything new. On August 31st, 2009 Disney announced they were buying Marvel for FOUR BILLION DOLLARS. After 70 years of strong creative independence, Stan Lee had no hesitation in this agreement. Would you? Would any of us?! Disney and Marvel are almost one in the same and a merge like this was long overdue. Stan Lee, like Walt Disney is responsible for creating multiple realms and mythology that are internationally cherished. I myself have always been enamored with Marvel comics since I was a child. My father and I would sit and read them together. It was our culture and is still largely responsible for our consistant bonding. As large of a geek that I've evolved into over the years I still haven't managed to become familiar with all of Lee's 5,000 established characters. This no doubt will benefit Disney to reach a span of audiences that have proven difficult to entertain (young males, teens, adults, audiences of all demographics). Unfortunately there are some conflicts in paradise:

However, many of Marvel’s best-known characters already have contractual obligations to various rival media conglomerates that will not be easily or quickly undone. Sony has an indefinite hold on Spider-Man; News Corporation exerts similar control over the X-Men. Universal owns distribution rights to the Hulk and long-term theme-park rights in Florida to several characters. This is a pity, because Disney’s theme parks are a part of its business where teenage boys would particularly welcome the contrast that Marvel’s superheroes would provide to the Magic Kingdom’s oppressive wholesomeness. -economist.com
Despite this con the entire conglomerate proves to provide for more benefits. Disney now has crossed an infinite bridge and Stan Lee has achieved the dream of turning Marvel into the beautiful multimedia company he's always wanted. I've said this many times before, there aren't many modern gems who resemble Walt Disney, only Stan Lee comes close. I only hope that one day he and his work will be just as celebrated as Walt's legacy. With the success of "The Avengers", I'd say his legacy has already been met...
